Finding a Coach

Finding a coach during this customer discovery process is very important. Having a person who has experience, and who can provide crucial feedback can be a boon to any person new to customer discovery concepts.

Coaches come in all shapes and forms, from all different walks of life. We recommend that you find a coach that has some experience in business, and specifically, experience with lean startup principles.

Having a coach during this self-paced program may help to keep you accountable and on the right path as you begin to understand more about your customers.

The Customer Discovery 101 Workbook is a free companion to the Customer Discovery 101 program. It is designed to help you move through the program and capture important information. As you proceed through the program, you will be prompted to complete specific templates in the workbook.

Keep Track of Your Progress

This program asks you to use this site, then go off and do some activities, then return to this site for more educational content. Below are two ways you can "bookmark" your place in the program, so that you can easily pick up where you left off:

  1. Automatically pick up where you left off (recommended). This program site will automatically "remember' where you left off and prompt you to pick up where you left off if you do two things:
  2. Receive an emailed link of where you left off. If you can't do #1 or are using a public computer, we suggest that you use the links at the bottom of each step's page that say, "Stopping for now? Click here to receive a link of where to begin next time." These links take you to a form. Enter your email address and you'll automatically receive an email containing a link to the next step, so you can remember where to pick up for your next session.

How to Navigate 

This program is broken into introduction and four modules that contain videos and activities which can be navigated in two ways:

1. On the bottom of each program page, there are two arrows, one points to the previous page and the other to the next page. To continue on in the program, click the arrow to move on to the next page.

2. One the left-hand side of each page, the navigation shows all of the program pages. You can click each page to navigate between pages.

This course can also be navigated either on a computer or on a mobile device. If you are going through the program on a mobile device, it is highly recommended that you read it in the landscape view rather than the portrait orientation.
