This week we re-examined solutions in a few contexts. First, we learned how to represent solutions in terms of their concentrations. You should now feel comfortable converting between different types of units and calculating the concentration in terms of molarity in particular.

Then, we examined what happens when you  combine solutions (and other types of substances) to perform chemical reactions. We learned how to predict products of chemical reactions including using the solubility guidelines to tell when a precipitation will occur and identify other types of reactions such as acid-base, and oxidation-reduction. We also learned how to quantify the amount of each reactant used and product made using principles of reaction stoichiometry.
