The in-person conference is hosted for Penn State affiliates exclusively at the Eric J Barron Innovation Hub in downtown State College, PA. The conference will occupy predominantly the 6th floor, but will have a presence on the first floor was well.
Parking for the event is advised to be downtown in State College at any of the parking decks. If you are traveling and staying in one of the local hotels, it may be prudent to confirm parking or transportation to downtown once you've checked in.
The in-person conference starts and ends earlier in the day to allow people a chance to explore and enjoy campus and the local community. Post conference features may include a self-guided Arts District scavenger hunt on campus or informal social opportunities.
The LDSC24 digital conference will be hosted via discord and utilize a semi-synchronous schedule that allows attendees to view the various presentations as part of a schedule and asynchronously, while communicating synchronously with each other over the course of a few days.
Discord was chosen as a viable option because of its hosting capabilities as well as the ease of inviting our education partners across the Commonwealth.
