This year's LDSC is designed to support the community and showcase the considerations of the college of Arts & Architecture. The theme being operated under is The Arts : Connection, Perception, & Disruption . The theme for the year reinforces the pillars of intent as well as the value and intention of the arts and human experience in an increasingly technical world.
LDSC has served as a light modality for presentations and smaller attempts at networking. We want to establish more concretely a return to foundational pillars in building 2024 and beyond :
This year, we want a more deliberate integration while expanding on the un-conference format implemented in 2023. This is also intended to invite reimagining a host of details and considerations.
In pursuit of a greater emphasis on informality and play, this year will include a a group exercise, this activity presents new opportunities in team building, networking, developing a shared praxis, and importantly, continuity if continued into the future.
Finally, we implemented a new framework for planning and curating lenses for LDSC by incorporating a unit showcase. This is designed to demonstrate the challenges, capacities, and culture of the chairs home unit. Pursuant that goal, this year we featured the College of Arts & Architecture which is also celebrating its 60th anniversary. The arts provide a number of lenses and focuses that will be inquired after for sessions and interviews in both the online and in-person events.
This page will link into the digital conference starting in July.
