Know the definition of an isomer. Be able to identify constitutional isomers.
Classify a molecule as hydrocarbon (alkane, alkene, alkyne, or aromatic).
Identify and differentiate constitutional (structural) and geometric isomers.
Given the name of a functional group, be able to identify molecules that have that functional group.
Given carbon backbone structures, be able to identify structural features (functional groups [alcohol, ether, amine, aldehyde, ketone, carboxylic acid, ester, and amide], or hydrocarbon classes).
